All employees of Holiday Stationstores go through comprehensive computer based training at Holiday University before they are allowed access to our family of customers. C.B.T. consists of an Undergraduate Studies program and an Advanced Studies program.

Assistant Manager Training

Assistant Manager training differs from Store Manager training in that assistants are trained by their home store managers at their own pace for their first 90 days on the following topics:

  • Pro-active Scheduling
  • Basic Store Maintenance
  • Daily Paperwork and Banking
  • Effective Decision Making
  • Stationstore Security
  • Gasoline/Fuel Basics

After the initial 90 days of training is complete, Assistant Managers then enter into our more formal training program held in a "Certified Training Store" for 2 additional weeks to learn the following topics:

  • Employee Development and accountability
  • Delegation/Follow Up
  • Program Execution
  • Proper Ordering
  • Effective Decision Making

Manager Training

Holiday Stationstores has created a training process of self-study and hands on training for managers that consists of:
  • Recruiting, Interviewing, Selection and Training of New Associates
  • Customer Flow and Job Duties

  • Basic Store Maintenance
  • Daily Paperwork and Banking
  • Proper Ordering

Manager trainees are trained in a store by Holiday's certified trainers for 6 to 8 weeks before being placed as a store manager.

Once placed, each new manager will receive two additional weeks of training in their store by one of Holiday's Field Trainers. The Field Training Program will cover the following topics:

  • Customized learning for the new store manager
  • Help with defining standards and implementing attainable procedures for the staff
  • Define a candidate profile and assist with developing a standard interview
  • Review customer service quality and help implement any necessary processes
  • Held define operational procedures
  • Be available to trouble shoot any daily reporting issues/questions
  • Work with the new manager on proper ordering procedures and will help define base inventory levels when appropriate
  • Ensure that employee development standards are being met
  • Follow up on the steps for coaching employees to higher performance
  • Will monitor and help implement control procedures
  • Demonstrate where to find answers (corporate office support)
  • Ensure that the store is merchandised to maximize sales
  • Review Human Resources Guidelines and help implement any necessary procedures
  • Implement Managers Daily and Weekly Priorities / develop a manager routine
